Mr. Thompson is a Senior Vice President in the transactions group for Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, LLC overseeing the student housing platform. He and his team focus on sourcing, analyzing, and closing properties and venture relationships across North America. Mr. Thompson has 12+ years experience in the student housing business and possesses in-depth knowledge of university markets nationwide. During his tenure at Harrison Street, Mr. Thompson has participated in the sourcing and closing of transactions valued at more than $2 billion which includes the development and acquisition of over 35,000 student housing beds.

Prior to Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, Mr. Thompson was the senior analyst of the acquisitions and capital markets team for GMH Communities Trust, Inc. (NYSE: GCT), a leading publicly-traded student housing REIT. He was responsible for the oversight of financial analysis, capital markets and market research to evaluate potential acquisitions of student housing properties and land parcels for development.

Mr. Thompson is a frequent speaker at industry events and served on panels at the Real Share Conference in Dallas May 2012 and the Interface Student Housing Conference in Austin April 2012.

Mr. Thompson received a B.S. from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington.
