Mr. Van Bergen is a Senior Vice President with Harrison Street Securities, L.L.C. Mr. Van Bergen is responsible for analysis and recommendations in the retail and hotel property sectors. He is also responsible for overall portfolio and security analysis, trend analysis and special projects. Mr. Van Bergen has a strong background in equity analysis, real estate sector coverage, private equity evaluation, and financial analysis.

Prior to joining TSM he was a Senior Analyst for REITs with Zacks Investment Research in Chicago. At Zacks he maintained senior-level coverage on a universe of 52 publicly traded REITs and real estate operating companies, including office, industrial, apartment, hotel, public storage, manufactured housing, mall and strip center, and mortgage REITs. He provided institutional quality research to retail brokerage firms and their customers, side-by-side with brokerage firms. His primary customer was Morgan Stanley. Prior to Zacks, Mr. Van Bergen was with IBM Business Consulting Services (formerly Price Waterhouse) in Chicago where he was a Finance Associate on a multi-person deal team in charge of building financial models of strategic "mini-mergers" between IBM and client companies. From 1998-2000 he was an Associate with Security Capital Global Capital Management Group. With Security Capital Mr. Van Bergen developed and maintained financial valuation models including Net Asset Value (NAV) and earnings forecast models that drove discounted cash flow analyses of publicly traded real estate companies. These models were used to help make investment decisions through recommendations to a portfolio committee.

Mr. Van Bergen has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois.
